I know I’m in the minority on this one, and feel free to bludgeon me with a Burberry bag if you must, but I actually like Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl. The character receives a lot of hate from the fans, who tend to see Little J as an obnoxious, annoying brat. I agree she can be bratty, but for the most part I think she’s delightfully bitchy, which is quite different. It’s nice to see a 15-year-old who has both the ‘tude to stand up to the likes of Blair and Eleanor Waldorf, and the nerve to plant a kiss on Nate. he CW’s Official Description (Added 2/24/08): BILLBOARD CHART-TOPPING BAND “ONE REPUBLIC” PERFORMS AND PETE RETURNS — Kara (Laura Vandervoort) and Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) attend a “One Republic” concert and one of the roadies turns out to be former Smallville resident Pete Ross (guest star Sam Jones III). Pete unwittingly chews some kryptonite-laced gum and develops super powers. Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) are thrilled to meet up with their old friend but warn him against using his powers in public. However, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) discovers Pete’s powers and blackmails him into helping break into a Lionel’s (John Glover) safe by threatening to reveal Chloe is a meteor freak. Kristin Kreuk and John Glover also star.

- UPDATED 12/21/07: Pete’s stretching ability comes from meteor-laced chewing gum. Sure it’s cheesy, but it sounds like Old School Smallville to us!

- UPDATED 12/6/07: Finally, IGN.com has confirmed who the “hero” will be - Pete Ross, returning to Smallville for the first time since Season 3’s “Forsaken.”
- Pete won’t really like the changes that have gone on since he left town. He’s surprised to learn that Chloe, Lana, and Lionel all know Clark’s secret - and he’s especially surprised to find Lionel Luthor hanging out at the Kents’ home.
- Much like a Season 1 “freak of the week” story, Pete obtains temporary “Elastic Lad”-like stretching powers thanks to something involving meteor rocks. He’s using these powers when he saves the lives of Kara and Jimmy.
- Lex uses Pete’s past feelings for Chloe to his advantage.
- Pete may have some unresolved bad feelings about keeping Clark’s secret and the direction it has taken in his life.

- UPDATED 11/18/07: The “hero” saves the lives of Kara and Jimmy.
- Part of this episode takes place at a concert. A “muscle-clad henchman,” a “roadie,” and a “drummer” are currently being cast.

- UPDATED 11/7/07: The character who makes a guest appearance is male.

- UPDATED 10/31/07: The guest character ends up saving the lives of two other characters and is quickly deemed a “hero.”

- The guest character first exhibits powers in this story thanks to a Kryptonite plot device that may stretch your imagination a little bit, but it’s still fun.
- Jimmy thinks this person’s power is “cool,” which makes Chloe question her decision to be so secretive about her own meteor-based ability.
- Erica Durance (Lois) does not appear in this episode.

- UPDATED 10/26/07: A character that fans have been wanting to see on Smallville for the past few seasons should be appearing in this one.
