A full-sized sheriff in a miniature town The Ballad of Mary and Ernie follows the adventures of Marshall Ernie, a man big for his age (say, about fifty feet high in relation to everyone else). All of his friends are about eight inches tall, including Nan, the woman hes going to marry. Ernie was raised in this town, and this is all he knows. These are his people, and this is just the way it is. Ernies engaged to Nan, who runs his life like a steam engine digging coal out of the surface of the moon. He feels an obligation to make a go of it with her. She is, after all, the most popular girl in town, and arguably the best looking (after Vinnie, his horse). The trouble begins with the arrival of Mary Venezuela, whos the same size as Ernie, and also extremely beautiful. Shes also a crack shot with a pistol and saves his hide the first time they meet. Ernie is torn between his interest in Mary, and his devotion to Nan. Ernies sidekick, The Kid, is hot after Mary, which complicates things only slightly. And naturally, Ernie must deal with his towns reaction to her, and the fact that as the law in this town, there are always rustlers and bad guys out to get him at every turn. There are all the classic western elements saloons, bar room brawls, dust, shootouts, horses, stampedes, you name it. The rich vein of iconic western images will be neatly trampled here by hundreds of tiny feet. The Ballad of Mary and Ernie is written, directed and produced by Robert Stadd.
