Ya know what I … Ya know what I think…. I think Carly and David Cook, BOTH think their gonna win! Which they probably aren’t! But some of those people, ARE christians!! So they REALLY understood…to the others… they were just singing another song they were asigned…. TISK…TISK!
THATS NOT TRUE. … THATS NOT TRUE. taking the bible literally is the right thing to do becauseif you dont anybody can change it to there liking and thats not right and you could get the wrong message. if you change God’s word your telling yourself lies and your not telling yourself the truth. and christians who take the Bible literally are good people. They are God’s children as well so dont talk like that.
well jed95991 have … well jed95991 have you heard of something called the Holy Trinity? Thats 3 divine persons in 1 God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy spirit not 3 seprate gods. A triune God. Also when you read His “little book” you got to go back to the Hebrew and Greek to understand what the versus actually means. And there are no contradictions in te bibble. Just Do-Do birds like yourself who comment for te sake of commenting rather than out of revelation knowledge.
actually, hillsong … actually, hillsong said they would rather save outrage for the real tragedies of this world. i think they were bummed that they left him out, but the song still means the same thing, and there are more important things to get worked up about.
actually, it’s … actually, it’s funny you mention that. 3 of the people with the strongest faith that i know are three little boys from Africa. they’re great kids, all deeply grounded in their faith, growing up in non-christian areas in deep poverty. but they all trust jesus nonetheless. i totally hear where you’re coming from. i’ve asked the same questions. i just thought i’d mention it and see what your thoughts are.
Guys, look. Here’s … Guys, look. Here’s the thing.
If I were her, the things you guys are saying would not make me want to follow jesus. on the contrary, actually, it would make me angry. i’d come to the conclusion that i was right about christians and their high-horse “us-against-them” mentality.
i love that they … i love that they sang this on TV…although i was a little angry that they replaced Jesus with shepard the first time. i think that it shows you that some people still respect God….unlike the person who made the church of satan remark…..not funny at all…
contestant, “But i’m a Buddhist”
contestant 2, “Yeah, and I’m Wiccan”
producer, “Look, we need to get more viewers in Middle America to believe that we are still wholesome and that you are all God fearing Jesus lovers. Oh, and it’s a good song. And you get to sing with a Black choir. Oh, and look, you can dance by stepping side to side.”
contestant, “I still don’t want to do it. It’s against my ethics.”
producer, “Sing it or burn in hell.”
I rarely comment on … I rarely comment on boards like this, but I must say it bothers me that you’re chastising someone else for their lack of Biblical knowledge, yet you clearly haven’t done much research yourself. Anyone who has studied the Bible much at all should notice that there are quite a few “contradictory” narratives in both the old and new testament. As just one example, the events in Jesus’ life are described in different ways and with different chronology in Matthew, Mark, and Luke.
I loved this so so … I loved this so so much. It was really beautiful. It made me teary eyed both nights, but I especially loved the second night when they didn’t deliberately leave out the Name of Jesus. They probably aren’t all Christians, but I love that they were all willing to sing the song, and believably. They all seemed really into it, and it was beautiful to watch. Even though I have since boycotted American Idol because of Michael John’s early departure, I thank American Idol for this performance.
